The Christmas Decorations

Once upon a time, there was a family with two children who lived in a small house near the forest. They were very happy together and every year in the beginning of December they would decorate the Christmas tree. This year though, the father was on a business trip and by the fifteenth of December they still hadn’t decorated anything.
That night, after dark, the Christmas decorations came to life and were wondering why they weren’t yet on the tree. So they decided to decorate the Christmas tree themselves. First of all, the Christmas balls jumped out of the box, followed by the Christmas bells. Then another box opened and one after each other the Christmas lights came out. One decoration was still missing. They were all looking around and suddenly saw a box next to the tree, opened it and there it was, the Christmas star.

The little girl of the family woke up because she heard some noise. She went down the stairs and looked behind the door into the living room. There she heard the lights making wishes for love and happiness in the world and saw them jump on the tree. The lights were followed by the balls and the bells and in the end the Christmas star climbed up the top of the tree, making a wish for peace and health for all the children on earth.
The other morning the family was surprised to see the Christmas tree magically decorated but the little girl learnt that every Christmas decoration has got a different meaning. Every year from now on if she decorates the tree herself, she will know that each little ball, bell, light or star means a wish for a better world.
