The little angel and the hope

Once upon a time, there was a little angel who had little stars on his cloak. There were so many that nobody could count them. Some days, they would shine very much, especially when the little angel was vey happy. Other times, they didn’t shine so much because the little angel was not that happy. However, there were some days when you couldn’t see not even one star shining on his cloak. Those were the days when the angel was sad. This could happen even to an angel. And this was very bad because when the angel was sad, he started crying and when he was crying the little ghosts that were responsible for the stars to shine, were leaving his cloak. Unfortunately, this was happening very often because the angel was sad very often.
“You shouldn’t cry so much”, his friend told him.
“But I’m sad very often” the angel complained.
The other angels couldn’t understand him.  “Why are you sad so often?” they ask him.  “Don’t you feel happy when you shine in the night sky?”
The little angel said “How can I be happy when I can see what’s going on down on Earth?”
“Does the misery on Earth make you sad?” an angel asked.
“Why should we care?” another angel said.
“Earth is so far away”
“It is around job to shine”
All the angels agreed.
“The light brings hope” the little angel whispered, but nobody could hear him. And while the others were arguing about who was shining more, the little angel was looking again down to earth and he could see the misery. He saw a man and a woman. The seemed poor and the woman was expecting a baby. They were wandering around the streets of the city and nobody would help them. They were thrown out of the house and when they slept inside a stable, the heart of the little angle was ready to break because of his sorrow. He really wanted to help them.
“The light brings hope” the little angel whispered again, “but what can I do? “Tears started dropping again on his cheeks and one by one the ghosts started leaving form his cloak until nothing stayed to make his cloak shine. Then, he started crying even more and he wanted to be close to those poor people. He closed his eyes and he fell asleep.
Suddenly, he felt a warmth around him. The little angel started shining. What was going on? Surprised, he looked around him. A strong light was in front of him and he could hear music from somewhere.
“What has happened, where am I?” he wondered. He heard a cry. Then, he saw the baby lying inside a manger in the stable. “This is the stable!” he said happily. It was so bright and the man and the women were looking at their baby full of joy and they were smiling.
The little angel was feeling very happy. “There is still hope”, he shouted. He felt that the light was coming back and the stars on his cloak started shining. The little angel was happy again. He looked at the baby with love, and he whispered to the woman and the man “thank you” and he flew to the sky feeling happy and hopeful.
That night, the stars on his cloak were shining more than the other stars. The little angel was very happy and he decided to never lose hope again, but he couldn’t do it because of all the things he could see that were not nice and made him upset, so he started crying despite the decision that he had made. How could he be happy when people fight with each other, they hurt each other or they are in war? When they are hungry, they are unhappy and feel lonely, they lose their friends or their country. There was always a reason for the little angel to be sad and to go to earth crying and feeling cold because he had lost the light, but somehow he could always find hope and in this way he could find light for his cloak.
And this year, the little angel had lost his light. And this is because he saw people from our country that were looking for a new country. It didn't seem that they were welcome and the little angel saw hatred and violence and heard many bad words. “Where are they going?” protested the little angel. “There is enough place in this beautiful country” he wondered. And because he couldn’t understand, he started crying again and like this he reached a big sea of light where young and old were holding a candle. A candle against hatred and violence. All the faces were shining.

The little angel smiled and said “Hope still exists”. The ghosts of light returned again and they were shining. The little angel smiled happily at the humans saying goodbye and he returned at his place on the sky. He was pleased.

Hope still existed. And it will exist for ever

A Letter to Santa!

Dear SANTA,

Hello, how are you?
I am writing because my neighbor Tom and Jane don’t have any toys. Last week a burglar broke into and stole everything from their house, even the children’s toys. What a pity, they don’t have any toys. My brother Jim and I shared with them some toys, but they are not enough. They want more toys, but their parents don’t have any money to buy them. Tom needs a new car, a gun and an eagle. Jane needs an elephant, a doll and a colorful ball. Please, help them.
With love,
Apostolis Raptakis

Santa Claus

It was a cold day in 2004. I was at home with my cousins. It was one day before Christmas! My parents were out for shopping and I was playing with my cousins near The Christmas tree. Then, my parents came back from shopping with "Tons of Plastic Bags" filled with  hoodies, trousers, boots and many other clothes.. I shouted "Mum!!!! Dad!!!!" and I hugged them!  I asked my Mum "Mum when is Christmas?? She answered to me "Tomorrow".
I went to bed to "sleep" but I really didn't. I was waiting for Santa Claus and I could hear my relatives laughing and chatting... I walked to the kitchen where my relatives were and I shouted "MUM, WHERE IS SANTA CLAUS???" She answered to me "Santa Claus brought your present. Let's go find it!" When we found it we exchanged gifts with each other and it was so much fun! We took pictures and we recorded some videos too.
I really enjoyed it that day and I want every day to be Christmas! I really like Christmas!! But to be honest we ALL like Christmas...right??

Have a Good
Christmas Day!!!!

A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE

It was Christmas Eve and Tinker, the squirrel, was in his little wooden house inside the old oak. “Ah!” he sighed again and again… Mrs Figouritsa, the bunny, heard him and asked him kindly “what happened?” “Everyone in the forest will decorate their house, but I don’t have anything to put on mine”, answered the squirrel sadly. “Don’t worry about that Tinker, you have to believe in miracles”, answered Mrs Figouritsa, the bunny, and smiled back at him.
The same evening, when Tinker went to bed, Mrs Figouritsa, the bunny, together with Mr Ricky, the mouse, did all the decorating. They put lights all over the branches, hung colorful ornaments and even wrapped gifts. The next morning, when Tinker woke up, he looked outside his window and couldn’t believe in his eyes!!! His old oak was so beautifully decorated! It was exactly what he has always been dreaming!! He also recognized a big man wearing red clothes next to the oak shouting at him “ho ho ho merry Christmas Tinker!” and then he disappeared in the sky! Tinker was so happy that tears of joy came out of his small brown eyes. He thanked his friends and enjoyed the best Christmas ever!!!
